Following Commentary (Week 1)
1. Florida vs. Charleston Southern: The Gators are back with returning Tim Tebow trying to defend their Championship Title. With A Total of 1,466 USA Today BCS Votes the Gators have an easy game against Charleston Southern. In one of the upcoming weeks Urban Meyer and the Gators takes on Lane Kiffin and the Volunteers in a merciless battle in which the gators are not holding back on a young rebuilding team whose coach trash talked Urban Meyer.
5. Alabama vs. Virginia Tech: In the Top 5 this is the only real game unlike the others who are just easy wins. I project the Crimson Tides over VT because I do not think that Virginia Tech has got the stuff to overcome the strong Tides who have experience and they also have a lot of returning players. I see it as a closer game than the rest but really VT's chances of upsetting the Tides are about 1:4 in the Alabama Crimson Tides favor.
10 Ole Miss vs. Memphis: I see Ole Miss as a growing team and should have been placed around 15 in the USA Today Polls, but I can see why they have gotten to number 10 because of their star quarterback. Realistically Memphis does not have any chance of overcoming Ole Miss' great offense and somewhat decent defense. The Odds in my mind if you really want them are 1:37 in Ole Mississippi's favor.
11 Oklahoma State vs. Georgia: Putting Georgia as the winner is a bold decision considering that both Matthew Stafford and Knowshawn Morino had gone into the draft. I still think that Oklahoma State lacks some chemistry so Georgia should win, even though Georgia is a team to test this season after getting key players taken off their team. Both teams could win and the odds are about even. It will be the best game to watch with the SEC team in it.
12 California vs. Maryland: After the embarrasing loss last year to Maryland, Cal has a great chance of putting them away and to have a double digit win season. As most of you know Cal has been going through a lot of change, and I well talk about it with you right now. Cal will be putting Kevin Riley and/or Brock Mansion as starting QB, but having solved one problem there are many left and they have solved them pretty well. The Wide Receivers have improved greatly as last years receiving threat Michael Calvin has fully recovered and last years receivers have started adding some "Spice" or "Salt, Pepper, and Cajun Spice" to their routes after learning to be average WRs. Jahvid Best is returning as a Heisman Candidate and is said to be more explosive than last year. People have been saying that there is a linebacker problem with 3 of them in the draft. There is enough talent on this squad to fill in two of the OLB spot and it LB spot. For the other Outside Linebacker position there is a recruit that plays the OLB position and hes considering to go to Berkely. If he does not come we have other back ups that fill the position. If all of these problems are fixed Cal is in for a winning season and might just top USC... after the Trojans lost so many players to the NFL. I think the odds of Maryland winning this game are 1:3 in Cal's favor.
14 Oregon vs. 16 Boise State: This was another bold decision, but Oregon is losing their control with no good quarterback or tailback and with Boise on the rise this could be a very good game. Boise was really good in their last bowl game and so was Oregon. There really is nothing more to be said about this match but "This is going to be a great game." The odds are about 1:1.09 in Oregon's favor, but Boise might pull it off.
19. Florida State vs. Miami (FL): Florida St. might win this game, but the Hurricanes are a team to watch now. This is going to be a decent game if the Hurricanes' Jacorey Harris is going to execute and find receivers down the stretch. This game could go either way, but right now it is in Florida State's favor just by a little bit. I can't really thing of the odds for this game so I will just say about 1:1.6 in Florida State's favor.
22. Nebraska vs. Florida Atlantic: I wouldn't say this game way going to be "Close", but the Nebraska CornHuskers have been pretty bad on defense and offense in the past two seasons so Florida Atlantic may have a chance. The CornHuskers are an almost rebuilt team as the extremely loyal fans have been waiting for for many years. Nebraska is a team to watch this season as they will be on the rise for a couple years. The odds are probably 1:2 in the Huskers' favor.
23. Notre Dame vs. Nevada: I mean im impartial, but IS THIS A JOKE? Notre Dame is a ranked team? Notre Dame has a weak schedual, but I think the polls can do better than that. They may win this game at Nevada easily, but they dont not have enough chemistry or skill to become a pre-season USA Today Polls ranked team. The Fighting Irish are going to be a good team in a couple of years and are a team to watch, but no way should Notre Dame be ahead of Unranked Kansas, Texas Tech, Michigan State, West Virginia, OR even Mizzou. I think the odds are 1:8 only in Notre Dame's favor, but REALLY a ranked team ahead of the ranked 25 OSU Beavers who where a PAC-10 contender? I don't think so.
